FOUR suspects have been held over the collapse of an eight-floor apartment building in Istanbul.
According to Turkish state radio, a project officer, a technical implementation supervisor and a construction inspector were among the detainees charged with negligence.
The case has shocked Turkey, and in particular President Tayipp Erdogan.
The apartment building collapsed last week. It emerged afterwards that it was originally built as a five-storey structure in 1992, but three floors were illegally added in the following years.
Its reported 21 people lost their lives in the building collapse.
A total of 35 people were pulled from the rubble.
