Bulgaria holiday expo gets underway

The event is bringing together over 380 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions.

The country is known for its wine production and held the 40th World Congress of Vine and Wine kicked two-years-ago, which brought together more than 1,000 delegates from 46 countries and regions.

THE Holiday & Spa Expo has got underway in Bulgaria, with a record attendance of participants this year.

Bulgaria is keen to continue expanding its developing tourism market. Last year, more than 9.2 million foreign tourists visited the country, a 4.4 percent increase year-on-year. Local tourism also shot up, to 3.7 million, hotel visits.

 The event is bringing together over 380 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions.

Greece, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia, Cuba, Romania, Vietnam, Iran and India are among the participants of the international tourist fair, along with more than 40 Bulgarian municipalities.

Last year, figures showed Bulgarians were also active international travellers, with more than one million Bulgarians heading abroad for either business or pleasure.
