Belarus GDP up 1.1 pct in Q1

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Belarus increased 1.1 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2019, the country’s National Statistical Committee said on Tuesday.

The GDP volume in current prices amounted to 28.6 billion Belarusian rubles (about 13.6 billion U.S. dollars), the committee reported.

The Belarusian economy grew 3 percent in 2018 and 2.4 percent in 2017.

The Belarusian government expects the country’s GDP to grow 4 percent in 2019.
