Russia, Belgium into Women’s Eurobasket quarters

Russia and Belgium entered the quarterfinals of the Women’ Eurobasket by beating Italy and Slovenia and respectively on Tuesday at the Belgrade Arena.

Two remaining teams from Groups C and D have secured their berths in the quarterfinals of the FIBA Women’s Eurobasket 2019 that takes place in Serbia and Latvia.

In the first match played here, Belgium beat Slovenia 72-67. Julie Alemand scored 25 points to help world’s fourth-ranked team secure a ticket for the quarterfinals.

In the second game, Russia defeated Italy 63-54.

Russia will meet Spain, and Belgium will face France in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

On the same match day, Serbia will play against Sweden, and Hungary take on Britain at the Belgrade Arena.
