Lebanon’s trade minister calls for stronger Arab ties

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Hassan Mourad emphasized Friday the need to boost Lebanon’s ties with Arab countries to help local industries, the National News Agency reported.

“We need to open new Arab and international markets for our products in addition to boosting our ties with Arab countries,” Mourad was quoted as saying during the graduation ceremony of the Lebanese International University.

Mourad said that the Arab states have always been of great support to Lebanon by employing a big number of Lebanese youths which contributed to the well-being of the country.

“We should not forget that countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt have opened their doors to our people and therefore we should preserve strong ties with all Arab countries,” he said.
