THE drinks and hospitality sector in Cork Ireland generates over €780 million tourism spend per annum, but 4.4% decline in tourists from UK a big concern reports the Irish Independent.
Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (DIGI) says that there are over 1,700 businesses in the drinks and hospitality sector in Cork, ranging from pubs and restaurants to off-licences, hotels, producers and wholesalers.
Ireland has enjoyed several years of busy tourism.
A total of 1.2 million people visited Ireland in August 2018, up 7.6 percent compared with the same month of 2017. Tourists from Europe other than Britain continued to rank in the first place in terms of the tourist number with the August figure standing at 427,200 people, followed by Britain (405,000), the United States and Canada (286,800), and the rest of the world (83,200).
