Lebanon always capable of overcoming crisis: president

Aoun also said that young Lebanese expatriates should not worry about returning to Lebanon, citing his optimism about the country's future.

Lebanon has been witnessing nationwide protests since Oct. 17 which led to the resignation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri's government while President Michel Aoun has so far failed to hold parliamentary consultations for naming a new prime minister tasked with the formation of a cabinet capable of dealing with the current financial crisis.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun said Tuesday that Lebanon is always capable of overcoming its crisis.

“History has shown that Lebanon is always capable of breaking out of its different crises,” Aoun said during his meeting with a number of young Lebanese expatriates from different parts of the world.

Aoun said that Lebanon is going through “a very tough period,” but it is not the only country suffering from economic and political complications.

“Lebanon enjoys security, stability at least, while a lot of other countries still suffer from terrorism,” he said.

Aoun also said that young Lebanese expatriates should not worry about returning to Lebanon, citing his optimism about the country’s future.
