Ajax and Genoa reached an agreement over the transfer of midfielder Lasse Schone to Italy, both clubs have announced.
The 33-year-old Danish international signed a contract until 2021 at the Serie A club, with an option for another season. His contract at Ajax expires in 2020.
With the transfer, a period of seven years at Ajax comes to an end for Schone. He came over from Dutch club NEC Nijmegen in 2012 and played a total of 287 official matches in the first team of Ajax, in which he scored 64 times. Schone previously played for De Graafschap and SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands.
With Ajax, Schone clinched three league titles (2013, 2014, 2019), one Dutch Cup (2019) and two Dutch Super Cups (2013, 2019). Last season he was influential in the memorable Champions League campaign, which led to the semifinals, scoring a free-kick goal against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu stadium.
