IMD warns of heavy rainfall in Indian states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places in India’s western state of Rajasthan and the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

The IMD said in its warning bulletin that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and the eastern state of Odisha.

It also stated heavy rainfall at isolated places over the northern states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, the eastern states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and the southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Union Territories of Chandigarh and Puducherry.

The IMD also warned of possible thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at certain places over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.
