All the glamour of transatlantic liners was brought to life this week, as New Yorker’s got to experience an exciting scene as MSC Meraviglia became the largest ship to ever dock in Manhattan.
The cruise ship arrived in the Big Apple, docking in the same place the great ocean liners of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries used to occupy.
The ship arrived in the USA after a trans-Atlantic crossing from Kiel, with calls in Copenhagen, Denmark; Southampton, England; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Reykjavík, Iceland, plus St John and Halifax in Canada.
MSC Meraviglia has a capacity for 4,488 guests and a gross tonnage of 171,598 GRT.
The ship will set records in the days ahead as the largest ship to visit Boston, Portland and Bar Harbour, Maine.
