The Cypriot parliament expects immediate and tangible results following a parliamentary visit to China earlier this month, the country’s house president said Friday.
Demetris Syllouris, President of the Cyprus House of Representatives, told a press conference that “these results will be taken into consideration “during a meeting with Chinese side which will “take place soon”.
Syllouris headed an all-party, seven-member delegation to an extensive tour of China from Nov. 2 to 12. The delegation was accompanied by a large group of Cypriot businessmen.
He said that during their visit they examined concrete cooperation, particularly in the fields of tourism, trade, infrastructure, technology, research, innovation and education.
“Our visit was fully successful,” Syllouris said.
Syllouris said that during the visit the two sides examined the prospect of a direct flight connection between Cyprus and China, adding that a Chinese airline will examine this possibility.
