5 injured in shooting at Istanbul cafe

Five people were injured on Thursday in a shooting at a cafe in Turkey’s biggest city of Istanbul, local media reported.

Gunshots erupted at an internet cafe in the district of Beyoglu following a brawl between two groups, the Cumhuriyet daily reported.

One person opened fire and wounded five members of the rival group, the report said, adding that the gunman and his two companions escaped after the shooting.

Several ambulances were sent to the scene as local police launched an investigation into the incident.
