Turkey’s flag carrier to launch flights to China’s Xi’an next month

The THY has been making a profit every year, except 2016, since 2006, Eksi noted, adding that the company will also make a profit in 2019.

Turkey’s national flag carrier Turkish Airlines will launch new flights next month to Xi’an, China, and Rovaniemi, Finland, the company has confirmed.

Turkish Airlines (THY) aims to reach 77 million passengers by the end of 2019, the semi-official Anadolu Agency quoted the CEO of the company, Bilal Eksi, as saying.

“As Turkish Airlines, we carried 75.2 million passengers last year. We continue to progress in line with our goals. Hopefully, by the end of the year, the number of passengers will reach 77 million despite all the troubles,” he said.

Eksi stated that a third runway would be built in 2020 at the Istanbul Airport.

The THY has been making a profit every year, except 2016, since 2006, Eksi noted, adding that the company will also make a profit in 2019.
