Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca on Thursday confirmed 961 new daily COVID-19 cases and 27 more deaths in Turkey.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country has climbed to 153,548, while the death toll surged to 4,249, the minister tweeted.
Turkey conducted 33,633 tests for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests carried out to 1,729,988, he stated.
Some 1,003 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of patients recovered from COVID-19 to 114,990, while 820 are being treated at intensive care units and 424 are intubated, the minister said.
Turkey reported its first COVID-19 case on March 11.
