Albania beat Kazakhstan 3-1 here on Sunday in the UEFA Nations League.
The match started well for the hosts, with forward Sokol Cikalleshi scoring the game’s first goal in the 16th minute.
Albania’s lead was doubled in the 23rd minute by defender Ardian Ismajli, who took advantage of some slack defending by Kazakhstan.
The away side halved the deficit just two minutes later, when Islambek Kuat scored after good build-up work from midfielder Aybol Abiken.
Albania won a penalty in the 63rd minute after midfielder Amir Abrashi was fouled, with Rey Manaj making no mistake from the spot to make the score 3-1.
Albania’s win takes them to second place in Group C4 with eight points, two points behind group leaders Belarus, whom Albania play next on Wednesday.
