Israeli PM leaves for climate summit in Glasgow

Israel will be represented by a delegation of 120 people from government ministries, the parliament, civil society, academia and the business sector.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett departed Israel on Sunday to attend the United Nations Climate Conference in Glasgow later this week.

Bennett was joined by Environmental Protection Minister Tamar Zandberg and Energy Minister Karine Elharar.

Over the weekend, Bennett announced Israel’s goal of reaching zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

“We are responding to the global challenge, finding technological solutions and joining in to achieve this important goal,” Bennett said in a statement released on Friday.

World leaders will be meeting in the Scottish city to discuss ways to mitigate the effects of climate change.
