
Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Italian side Armani Milano 75-58 in the 31st round of Euro League basketball on Tuesday evening.
The Israeli hosts achieved their 12th victory from 23 games while Milano remain with 16 wins in 24 games.
In front of 9,300 fans at the Menorah Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, the home team dominated the first quarter, ending 23-11 mostly thanks to Derrick Williams and Ante Zizic.
Jalen Reynolds and Zizic inspired Maccabi to increase the gap to 39-23, but Devon Hall led Milano back into the game, cutting the deficit to 40-37 at half-time.
Milano reduced the gap to one point, but a 10-0 run led by Khyri Thomas gave a double-figure lead back to Maccabi with the third quarter ending 56-46, and Iftah Ziv’s dunk made it 66-48 to secure the home win.
Reynolds and James Nunnally scored 14 points each for the winners. Zizic contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.
Hall scored a team-high 11 points for Milano, with Nicolo Melli adding 10 points alongside 12 rebounds.
Maccabi will play their next game at home against Real Madrid while Milano will face Anadolu Efes in Turkey on Thursday. ■
