Ecuador will finalize their preparations for the World Cup in Qatar with a friendly against Iraq, manager Gustavo Alfaro said on Thursday.
The fixture is scheduled to be played in Spain on November 12, with the venue to be confirmed in the coming days.
“We are going to mainly use players we have here [based in Ecuador] but we are making some arrangements to call-up some others who are based in Europe,” manager Gustavo Alfaro was quoted telling local media.
Ecuador will begin their World Cup campaign against hosts Qatar on November 20 and will also face the Netherlands and Senegal in Group A.
The Tricolor secured a place in football’s showpiece tournament by finishing fourth in the 10-team South American qualifying group.
