Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Olympiacos Piraeus in EuroLeague basketball

TEL AVIV – Israeli basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv achieved a 90-84 home win over Greek champions Olympiacos Piraeus in the EuroLeague at the Menorah Mivtachim Arena in Tel Avivon Tuesday evening.

It was Maccabi’s fifth win in the competition, while Olympiacos remain with six wins from nine games.

Holding a narrow 45-43 lead at halftime, Olympiacos enlarged it to 56-46 in the middle of the third quarter before Maccabi cut it to 69-63.

In the fourth quarter, Lorenzo Brown came up big to help Maccabi turn the game around on the way to the home win.

Wade Baldwin scored a game-high 22 points for Maccabi, while Brown contributed 16 points and six assists.

Giannoulis Larentzakis led Olympiacos with 21 points and Sasha Vezenkov added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
