6.7-magnitude quake hits near east coast of Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia — USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 jolted near the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia, at 0306 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 99.7 km, was initially determined to be at 52.75 degrees north latitude and 158.635 degrees east longitude. ■
