Rwanda urges nationals in Sudan to exercise caution amid armed conflict

Rwanda on late Friday alerted its nationals in Sudan to exercise caution and prioritize their safety amid the ongoing conflict in the country.

The Rwanda Diplomatic Mission in Sudan urges all Rwandan nationals to report their current locations, share relevant security incidents and stay sheltered, said a statement released by the Rwandan Foreign Ministry.

The foreign ministry has set up hotlines that Rwandans can use to obtain information and get assistance, it said.

Deadly armed clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces on April 15, killing over 400 and wounding about 3,500 others, according to the country’s Ministry of Health on Friday. ■
