Cyprus records increase in tourism revenues, UK largest market

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached €56,6 mn in February 2023 compared to €39,6 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 42,9%.

For the period of January – February 2023, revenue from tourism is estimated at €102,2 mn compared to €67,8 mn in the corresponding period of 2022, recording an increase of 50,7%.

The average expenditure per person was €475,39 in February 2023 compared to €550,10 in February 2022, recording a decrease of 13,6%.

Tourists from the United Kingdom (the largest tourist market with 27,2% of the total tourists in February 2023) spent on average €62,35 per day, while tourists from Israel (the second largest market during the specific month with 12,8% of the total tourists) spent on average €103,51. Tourists from Greece (the third largest market with 12,6%), spent on average €47,34 per day.
