A ceasefire agreement has been reached in the northern Syrian city of Manbij between rebel forces and Western-backed SDF forces, according to an SDF commander.
According to the commander, the agreement was reached through American mediation.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was formed in 2015, is Kurdish-led and cooperates with US forces in northeastern Syria.
The agreement was signed “to ensure the safety and security of civilians,” said SDF leader Mazloum Abdi on Wednesday night.
