President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to impose higher tariffs on countries that adopt digital taxes or technology regulations he says discriminate against U.S. companies.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said such measures give “a complete free pass” to China’s largest tech firms.
“This must end — and it must end NOW!” he wrote.
Trump warned that nations implementing such policies could face significant tariffs on exports to the United States, along with restrictions on access to American technology and microchips.
He did not specify which countries he was referring to.
