A plane crash in the southwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed 17 people, including two of the country’s most senior military justice officials.
The country’s transport ministry announced the deaths Saturday, according to AFP.
The crash killed 13 passengers and four crew members, the ministry said.
The two senior officers who died were named as Joseph Mutombo, head of the military supreme court, and Lucien-René Likulia, a war prosecutor and auditor general for the armed forces.
Likulia was the prosecutor against former President Joseph Kabila during his September 2025 trial, in which Kabila was found guilty and sentenced to death for treason and war crimes.
