Police suspended the license of a 58‑year‑old bus driver after he was found driving under the influence late Monday night.
The driver was stopped for a traffic check around 9 p.m. on the Nicosia–Limassol highway. A preliminary breath test showed 44 micrograms of alcohol, well above the legal limit of 9.
He was taken to the Pera Chorio Police Station for a final breath test but failed to provide an adequate sample, authorities said.
Police confiscated his driving license, which was immediately suspended. He was charged in writing and released pending a court summons.
