Six people were arrested overnight in Cyprus during coordinated police operations aimed at preventing serious crime and maintaining public order, authorities said Wednesday.
Police carried out organized patrols across key urban areas, stopping 364 vehicles and checking 512 drivers and passengers. Officers also inspected 36 premises, issuing five citations.
Traffic enforcement led to 200 violations, including 87 for speeding. Ninety‑nine alcohol tests were conducted, with three drivers testing positive. Five vehicles were seized as part of ongoing investigations.
The arrests involved offenses including burglary, theft, malicious damage, car theft and illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus.
Police said daily targeted patrols and rapid‑response operations continue nationwide to deter crime and strengthen public safety.
