Ryanair and Lufthansa will expand flights between Germany and Paphos for the summer 2026 season, strengthening the region’s air connectivity, the Paphos Regional Tourism Board (ETAP) said.
ETAP welcomed the increased capacity, saying it will make Paphos more accessible to German travelers and support demand for the destination.
According to the announcement, Ryanair will operate nine weekly inbound flights from German airports to Paphos. The schedule includes two weekly flights each from Berlin‑Brandenburg, Cologne and Düsseldorf, and three from Memmingen–Munich.
Lufthansa will also introduce three weekly flights from Munich to Paphos during the 2026 summer season, offering additional travel options through its international network.
ETAP said tour operators are already showing interest in expanding their programs to Paphos.
ETAP Director Nasos Hadjigeorgiou said the enhanced air links with Germany represent a strategic development for the region, creating opportunities to grow tourism, extend the season and attract higher‑spending visitors. He thanked the airlines for their confidence in Paphos and said cooperation with Hermes Airports and other partners will continue.
Despite the new routes, ETAP noted that Cyprus still underperforms in the German market. Out of 75 million outbound trips from Germany, Cyprus attracts only about 250,000 arrivals — roughly 0.33% — compared with 1.6 million arrivals in Crete, 1 million in Rhodes and 4.3 million in Mallorca.
In response, ETAP is adjusting its action plan, including participation in the FREE Munich 2026 tourism fair, potential changes to its digital campaigns targeting Germany, expanded cooperation with tour operators and airlines, and hosting German journalists, bloggers and travel agents in the region.
