Justice Minister Kostas Fytiris said authorities are doing everything possible to ensure public safety at all hours, during a visit to the Limassol Police Directorate.
Fytiris, who also visited the Port and Marine Police earlier in the day, said new measures to improve the prison system will be announced soon.
He described the police force as a “pyramid” built on the work of frontline officers. “The base is the ordinary police officers, and the entire structure — up to the chief and the minister — rests on that foundation,” he said.
