Cyprus will see mostly fair weather through Friday before clouds and showers move in over the weekend, according to the national meteorological service.
A weak high‑pressure system is affecting the region, bringing calm conditions and only passing mid‑ and high‑level clouds tonight. Winds will be light from the west to northwest, and seas will be slight. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 7°C inland, 9°C along the coast, and 0°C in the higher mountains, where frost may form.
Thursday outlook
Skies will be mostly clear in the morning, though clouds will increase over western areas. By afternoon, developing cloud cover — mainly over the mountains and the south — could produce isolated showers. Winds will remain light to moderate from the northwest, and seas will stay slight. Temperatures will rise to 18°C inland, 20°C on the coasts, and 10°C in the mountains.
Clear weather is expected again Thursday night with light northwest to northeast winds.
Friday
Mostly sunny conditions will continue, but increasing afternoon clouds may bring isolated showers, especially in the mountains and parts of the interior.
Saturday
Weather will turn mostly cloudy, with local showers or a possible thunderstorm as a new system approaches.
Temperature trend
Temperatures will hold steady on Thursday, then gradually dip through Saturday to near seasonal averages.
