Teaching will be fully or partly cancelled at between 400 and 500 schools in France on Monday because of the ongoing school demonstrations.
The closures are being made for safety reasons.
France’s education minister, Edouard Geffray, said so on Sunday afternoon, according to AFP.
Since last week, pupils across the country have staged protests outside hundreds of schools. They are complaining about timetables, class sizes and a shortage of teachers, as well as classrooms that overheated during this year’s heatwaves.
