The municipality of Polis Chrysochous has appealed to residents not to attempt to touch, remove or kill snakes and other reptiles they encounter, pointing instead to a dedicated reptile park operating in the area.
In a statement, the municipality noted that a Reptile and Amphibian Park is based in Neo Chorio, aimed at the protection, promotion and safe management of reptiles.
Citing the park’s work, the municipality called on residents to exercise particular caution if they spot a snake or other reptile in a residential area, on a road, in a garden or anywhere else the animal might be in danger or cause concern, rather than intervening themselves.
