Police carried out targeted overnight patrols across Cyprus, resulting in six arrests for a range of offences.
The coordinated operations focused on preventing serious crime, maintaining public order and strengthening the sense of security in urban areas. The arrests involved offences including possession of drugs with intent to supply, burglary and theft, driving under the influence of alcohol, excessive speeding and outstanding court warrants.
During the night‑long checks, officers stopped 374 vehicles and inspected 487 occupants. Police also conducted 27 inspections of premises to address delinquency.
Traffic enforcement led to 95 citations for various violations. Two drivers were arrested after being clocked at 200 km/h and 195 km/h respectively on the Nicosia–Limassol highway. Police also opened eight new traffic‑related investigations and impounded seven vehicles.
Authorities said the intensified policing operations will continue daily with increased patrols, targeted checks and rapid response measures aimed at protecting the public and safeguarding order.
