Cyprus’ consumer price index slipped 0.1% in February compared with January, the country’s statistics service has said.
The CPI fell to 99.86 points from 99.98 in January. Annual inflation stood at 0.1%.
Compared with February 2025, the largest increase was recorded in agricultural products, up 4.2%, while electricity and water posted the sharpest decline at 9.3%. Month‑to‑month, electricity and water also showed the biggest drop, down 2.5%.
By spending category, the biggest annual changes were seen in clothing and footwear (down 6.8%), restaurants and accommodation services (up 4.7%), education (up 3.7%) and transport (down 3.7%).
Compared with January, the largest movements were in clothing and footwear (up 0.8%), recreation and culture (down 0.5%) and food and non‑alcoholic beverages (down 0.4%).
Restaurants and accommodation services had the strongest upward impact on the annual index, while gasoline exerted the largest downward pressure. On a monthly basis, clothing items contributed the most to the increase, while vegetables had the biggest negative impact.
The CPI measures price changes in goods and services purchased by households and is the official indicator used to calculate inflation.
