Cyprus’ president has begun a three‑day official visit to India.
He arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon with cabinet members, business leaders and senior economic officials. On Friday he will take part in the Cyprus–India business forum, where several government‑to‑government and private‑sector cooperation agreements are expected to be signed.
Talks will also focus on attracting investment and on Cyprus’ role in the India–Middle East–Europe economic corridor.
President Nikos Christodoulides will then travel to New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet India’s president, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discussions will centre on bilateral ties and India–EU cooperation.
Officials say defence and security cooperation will also be reviewed, and President Christodoulides will brief Indian leaders on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.
