Cyprus recorded an almost 16% increase in prices for fuels and lubricants used in personal transport this April compared with the same month last year, according to new data from Eurostat.
On a monthly basis, diesel prices in Cyprus jumped 18% between March and April, while gasoline rose nearly 9%.
Across the European Union, prices for fuels and lubricants climbed 20.8% in April.
Eurostat noted that until February 2026, prices had been on a downward trend both in the EU average and in most member states.
For gasoline specifically, 23 EU countries saw increases between March and April 2026, ranging from 12.9% in Slovenia to 1.3% in Ireland. Poland was the only member state to record a decrease, with gasoline prices falling 6%.
