Cyprus has concluded President Nikos Christodoulides’ official visit to India with what the government describes as a clear political outcome and concrete deliverables, government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis has said.
In a written statement, Letymbiotis said the visit produced “a specific political imprint” and set out a solid framework for the next phase of Cyprus–India relations.
The key result, he noted, is the elevation of bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership.
He said the joint declaration, a series of memoranda of understanding, new institutional cooperation mechanisms and progress on the Cyprus–India Joint Action Plan for 2025–29 form an “organized roadmap” for future engagement.
Letymbiotis added that Cyprus is emerging as India’s gateway to Europe.
He also highlighted India’s renewed support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, as well as for the resumption of UN‑framed negotiations to resolve the Cyprus issue.
