Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus staged a three‑hour work stoppage Wednesday morning, protesting what unions describe as serious, unresolved problems affecting both the EAC and the wider electricity sector.
The strike ran from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Unions warned that unless the government addresses the authority’s concerns, they are prepared to escalate their actions.
Union representatives accused the state of lacking a coherent strategic plan for the energy sector, arguing that ongoing delays and policy gaps are worsening conditions for consumers and harming the country’s economy.
