The government will continue to seek cooperation with all responsible political forces to carry out its policy program, the spokesman said.
Speaking on state radio, Konstantinos Letymbiotis said voters in Sunday’s election endorsed the government’s ability to build partnerships, and signaled approval for policies such as tax reform and migration management.
Commenting on the failure of EDEK and DIPA—both government backers—to win seats in parliament, Letymbiotis noted that no administration has held an outright majority, yet many government policies have still been adopted across party lines.
He said the two parties’ defeat should not be seen as a rejection of government policy and warned against a one‑dimensional reading of the election result.
