FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Employees of Argentina’s Supreme Court uncovered more than 80 boxes of Nazi propaganda and documents while cleaning out a basement for a planned museum, officials said.

According to the court, the materials were originally sent from the German embassy in Tokyo to Argentina aboard a Japanese ship in June 1941, when Argentina was officially neutral in World War II. Authorities at the time flagged the shipment, fearing its contents could undermine the country’s neutrality.

Despite German diplomats insisting the 83 boxes contained personal effects, customs officials randomly inspected five boxes and discovered postcards, photographs, and ideological materials from Nazi Germany. The shipment also included thousands of notebooks from the Nazi party, which ruled Germany under Adolf Hitler.
