Airfares in Cyprus rose by an average of 5 per cent in August compared with the same month last year, according to Eurostat figures.
Package tours also became more expensive, with prices up 3.7 per cent.
The increase runs counter to the wider European picture. Across the EU, the cost of passenger air travel fell by 0.4 per cent over the year, while package holidays rose 3.2 per cent.
The sharpest rise in airfares was in Greece, at 16.3 per cent, followed by Ireland at 14.4 per cent. Fares fell in ten EU countries, with Slovakia recording the biggest drop, at 61.2 per cent.
Flight prices in Cyprus have been volatile this year. They were 2.9 per cent lower in January than a year earlier and 4.7 per cent lower in April, before rising 8.1 per cent in May.
The August increase continues a pattern of significant swings in air travel costs seen since the start of 2025.
