FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday called for the immediate lifting of the blockade on Gaza, saying emergency aid must be allowed in without hindrance.
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable,” von der Leyen said, stressing the need for rapid action.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also described the situation as “untenable.”
The statements came after a meeting between von der Leyen and Starmer, where the two leaders discussed defense cooperation, trade, and the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East.
