NICOSIA, Cyprus — In response to media reports about an inmate’s rape allegation at the Central Prisons, Cyprus Police said Thursday they have attempted to obtain a supplementary statement from the complainant through his legal counsel.
In an official announcement, police noted that despite repeated efforts, the complainant has not responded, preventing authorities from collecting testimony related to claims aired on television and circulated online.
The investigation remains open, pending cooperation from the alleged victim.
