Cyprus paid significantly more than the EU average for dairy products and oils in 2025, while prices for meat, vegetables and fruit were lower, according to Eurostat.
The price index for milk, cheese and eggs reached 127.1, compared with an EU‑21 average of 99.9 — about 29% higher.
Greece recorded the second‑highest level at 129.9, followed by Bulgaria at 126.2.
By contrast, Spain posted 95.3, Poland 92.7, Germany 96.1, the Czech Republic 97.2, the Netherlands 99.3 and Belgium 100.3.
Cyprus was cheaper than the EU average for fruit, vegetables and meat.
The fruit and nuts index stood at 95, below the EU‑21 average of 104.2. France was the most expensive at 125.1, while Romania was the cheapest.
