The Regulatory Authority for Energy has officially published its decision to transfer ownership and management licenses for the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection to ADMIE, Greece’s Independent Power Transmission Operator.
The move comes one day after a meeting in Athens between Cyprus Energy Minister Giorgos Papastasiou and Greek Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou, where both sides agreed to resolve outstanding issues related to the project.
According to sources cited by the Athens News Agency, the license transfer marks the first step toward implementing the agreements reached during the ministerial talks.
Papastavrou announced the completion of the license handover from the previous project operator, Euroasia Interconnector.
