Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire following negotiations held in the Qatari capital, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Sunday.
The talks, mediated by Qatar and Türkiye, resulted in a commitment from both sides to end hostilities and establish mechanisms aimed at fostering long-term peace and stability between the neighboring countries.
According to the statement, follow-up meetings will be held in the coming days to ensure the ceasefire’s durability and verify its implementation in a reliable and sustainable manner.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the agreement would ease border tensions and lay the groundwork for lasting regional peace.
