Egypt’s Palm Hills Developments said Sunday it signed an agreement with Marriott International to develop a St. Regis hotel west of Cairo, facing the Grand Egyptian Museum and overlooking the Giza Pyramids.
The project will include about 150 hotel rooms, 50 serviced apartments and 150 branded residences within Palm Hills October’s X/P development.
Chairman Yasseen Mansour said bringing the St. Regis brand to Cairo highlights Egypt’s growing place on the global tourism map and coincides with the museum’s official opening. He said the partnership supports national plans to expand tourism infrastructure.
Palm Hills aims to add up to 3,000 hotel rooms in coming years as part of its hospitality expansion strategy. Co‑CEO Hazem Badran said the deal reflects the company’s commitment to supporting tourism as a pillar of economic growth and will help attract investment and visitors.
