Authorities in Ankara detained 1,107 people wanted for various offenses during coordinated police and gendarmerie operations carried out between Dec. 12 and 18.
The governor’s office said the arrests included eight suspects with prison sentences of 20 years or more, 29 with sentences over 10 years, 40 facing five to 10 years, and 363 with sentences of up to five years.
Another 667 people were detained on warrants related to giving statements.
