Turkey’s exports to its neighboring countries rose 4.6% in 2025, reaching $28.4 billion, according to data compiled from the Ministry of Trade.
Turkey exported $28.35 billion worth of goods to Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Syria and Greece last year, up from $27.09 billion in 2024.
Overall exports increased 4.5% year‑on‑year to $273.4 billion.
Iraq remained Turkey’s top export market among its neighbors, receiving $10.3 billion in goods. It was followed by Bulgaria with $4.7 billion, Greece with $3.5 billion and Syria with $2.6 billion.
Syria recorded the sharpest annual increase, with exports rising nearly 70%. Bulgaria followed with a 6.8% increase, while exports to Greece grew 4.5%.
Chemicals led sectoral exports, totaling $4.34 billion to the seven neighboring countries. They were followed by grains, pulses, oilseeds and related products at $3.16 billion, and furniture, paper and forestry products at $2.43 billion.
The smallest export category was ornamental plants and related goods, totaling $38 million.
The figures cover Turkey’s land neighbors except Nakhchivan, for which no official data is available. Turkey and Armenia do not conduct direct overland trade.
