The Larnaca District Engineer’s Office has announced that roadworks will take place on Fotis Kontoglou Street from 13 February to 27 March 2026 as part of the city’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, which includes new bus lanes and cycling infrastructure.

The works will cover a section of roughly 40 meters, starting from the junction of Fotis Kontoglou Street and Themis Street.

During the construction period, part of Fotis Kontoglou Street will be closed to traffic, with vehicles diverted through adjacent roads using temporary signage.

To facilitate traffic flow, the one‑way restriction on a section of Ilektras Street — from its junction with Fotis Kontoglou Street to the northern service road of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue — will be lifted, and the road will temporarily function as a cul‑de‑sac.

The Public Works Department apologized for the inconvenience and urged the public to follow temporary road signs and police instructions.
